New Jersey Air Compliance Experts

New Jersey is known to have some of the most stringent environmental laws in the country.

Even if your boiler is registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor/Pressure Vessels and you have an annual inspection for safety and insurance purposes, if you have boilers with 1 million BTU capacities per hour or greater, they need to be permitted with NJDEP. If your boilers are rated at 5 million BTU per hour or greater, you also need to submit combustion adjustment data reports annually electronically. These are known as ACAs.

NJDEP Starts to Look at Smaller Businesses

Since 2012, all boilers and process heaters with 5 MMBtu/hr or greater heat inputs have been required to submit ACA data electronically.

The results must be submitted to NJDEP using DEP*Online within 45 days after the adjustment is completed. Each report should contain the following information.

  • 1 The concentration of NOx and Co is effluent steam inppmvs and O2 on a percent dry basis, measured before and after combustion adjustment.
  • 2 NOx and CO emission values in lb/MMBtu converted in accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:27-19.16(a)(6).
  • 3 Description of any corrective action taken as a result of the combustion adjustment.
  • 4 Type and amount of fuel tired in the 12 months before the combustion adjustment.
